Sebastopol: Santa's Trees

The West County is home to over 20 Christmas Tree Farms. And like everything else, we have our favorites. We recently took a field trip with our son’s nursery school to Santa’s Trees located in the hills West of Sebastopol.

It was a cool, foggy morning which lent to the charm of the place. The side pasture had several mellow cows who were hosting a flock of wild turkeys while we were there. The family grows Douglas Fir and White Fir trees and they sell them at very competitive prices. The grounds include organic gardens and a spot to picnic.

To visit, go 3 miles west of Sebastopol on Bodega Highway to Barnett Valley Road. The farm is located 1/2 mile south at 11389 Barnett Valley Road- signs posted.

If you are lucky enough to make the trip Friday through Monday, don’t forget to take a small detour on your way home to Wild Flour Bread in the town of Freestone (Location: 140 Bohemian Hwy, Freestone, CA 95472.) You can check out their site here:
