Santa Rosa: Safari West Wildlife Preserve

One of the things we love about Sonoma County is Safari West. It is a 400 acre wildlife preserve that is home to 400 species of exotic animals and birds.

You can take guided tours and see the animals and on a hot day, you'd swear that you were in Africa.

You can also stay the night in a deluxe African tent and wake up with a giraffe right outside of your window.

The Cheetahs are a favorite, and they have a new one that they hope to breed. It's great to see these beautiful animals, especially in a habitat where they have plenty of space to run and be free.

You can see more about Safari West at their website here:

Reservations are required so be sure to make plans in advance. Here is their contact information:

Also here's an update just for fun:

"Safari West has a way to "Drive Your Sweetheart Wild in the Wine Country!" with their "Wild Jungle Love - Valentine's Day Romantic Safari"

It was held on Saturday, February 16 and it will probably happen again next year.

This is what the event itinerary we got from their website:

"Chocolate and Wine: 2:30pm

Safari Sex Tour: 3:00pm

Dinner and Dancing: 5:30pm

Cost: $120 Valentine Day Sex Tour and Dinner/Party Package

Adults only - Reservations a must!"

It sounds like a lot of fun!
